Job Description – Consultant Interventional Cardiologist

Position: Consultant Interventional Cardiologist
Location: Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Department: Cardiology
Reports To: Medical Director

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and DHA/DOH-licensed Consultant Interventional Cardiologist to join our multidisciplinary Cardiology team in a hospital setting in Al Ain. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnostic, interventional, and preventive cardiovascular care while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, clinical excellence, and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, evaluate, and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures, including coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Manage emergency cardiac cases, including ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) and acute coronary syndromes.
Interpret ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitoring, and other cardiovascular investigations.
Provide inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and intensive cardiac care services.
Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, emergency physicians, and other specialists to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, morbidity and mortality reviews, and clinical governance activities.
Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, hospital policies, accreditation standards, and evidence-based clinical guidelines.
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Supervise junior physicians and support the education and training of medical staff.
Participate in on-call duties as per the hospital roster.
Promote patient education and preventive cardiology initiatives.
Contribute to quality improvement, research, and continuing medical education programs.

Qualifications

Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) recognized by the Department of Health (DOH), Abu Dhabi.
MD/DNB/DM or equivalent specialization in Cardiology.
Fellowship or equivalent qualification in Interventional Cardiology.
Valid DOH License or DOH Eligibility as Consultant Interventional Cardiologist.
Board Certification or internationally recognized specialist qualification preferred.

Experience

Minimum 8 years of post-specialization experience as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist in a reputable hospital.
Extensive experience in coronary interventions, complex PCI, emergency cardiac interventions, and cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures.
Previous experience in tertiary care or accredited hospitals is preferred.
