Position Title: Billing Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Billing Assistant to join our Finance team. The role is responsible for managing patient billing processes, handling cash and insurance transactions, and supporting front desk operations to ensure accurate financial records and smooth patient flow. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong numerical accuracy, customer service skills, and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter patient information accurately into the system based on registration forms.
• Verify completeness of patient registration forms and ensure all required consents are signed.
• Check in patients for appointments and assign appropriate financial class and coding details.
• Collect payments, co-pays, and issue accurate receipts in accordance with established procedures.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and scan/store insurance documents as per protocol.
• Maintain accurate daily cash handling and reconcile financial transactions.
• Process and record daily credit card payments in compliance with financial guidelines.
• Operate and utilize the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system effectively.
• Assist reception staff with appointment scheduling, patient coordination, and call handling.
• Maintain accurate clinic financial records, including processing checks and documenting transactions.
• Prepare and submit insurance forms and follow up on payments.
• Process EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) payments for insurance and corporate clients.
• Participate in EMR training and continuous learning activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in billing, finance, or healthcare administration.
• Familiarity with medical billing systems and EMR is preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance processes and financial transactions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

👉 Experience in healthcare billing is strongly preferred.
