Dr. Otabek
Specialist General & Laparoscopic Surgeon

Dr. Otabek is an experienced general and laparoscopic surgeon with more than 28 years of clinical, academic, and leadership experience.

He obtained his medical degree with honors from the Second Tashkent State Medical Institute in 1997 and completed his specialist surgical training with distinction. He also holds a Doctor of Science (DSc) in biliary surgery and is an Honorary Fellow of the European Board of Surgery (FEBS).

Dr. Otabek has served as a Consultant General Surgeon in the UK National Health Service (NHS) since 2013, most recently with United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. Over the course of his career, he has gained extensive experience in both emergency and elective general surgery, colorectal surgery, and minimally invasive procedures.

His expertise includes open and laparoscopic surgery, complex biliary surgery, hernia repair (TAPP/TEP), colorectal surgery, abdominal trauma surgery, and gastrointestinal endoscopy. He has performed more than 5,000 surgical procedures and over 700 lower gastrointestinal endoscopies, and holds full JAG accreditation in colonoscopy.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Otabek is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Urgench branch of Tashkent Medical Academy and has more than 15 years of teaching and mentoring experience. He has also contributed to research, publications, and innovation in biliary and minimally invasive surgery.
